Noel McKenna is one of my favourite Australian artists. He is based on the east coast of Australia. What I love is his thinking. He is humorous and inciteful and an amazing drawer (or I could use the fancier term draughtsman). He taught at my art school on the top floor but I never got him. He gave the students a list of absurd and commonplace ideas and said draw! I got the intense abstract minimalists on the bottom floor who made us peer deeply into the painted surface. Know your pool. Lane ropes are hard plastic dividers that create the lanes in pools. Everyone takes them for granted. They are very good for teaching beginners how to move their head up and down to create the butterfly dolphin body motion- if your lifeguard lets you. Or To practice the underwater catch for backstroke.
